The CHEF’S STORE Sales Associate helps maintain an atmosphere of superior customer service, promoting the US Foods strategy:

During a shift, you will be assigned to any of our departments, depending on our customer and/or business needs. At the direction of store management, you may work in any or all the following areas:

• On the front end of the store, selling merchandise and assisting customers through the checkout process.
• On the sales floor working in our Meat/Frozen department, Produce/Dairy department;
  Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment & Supply department.
• Replenishing freight and rotating product in any department.

You may also assist during special store events, such as Vendor Fairs, sales floor resets, and inventory processes.

• Front End:
  • Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF’S STORE experience by developing and maximizing relationships with the store’s customers.
  • Perform sales and cash functions in the POS in an efficient and accurate manner (scanning merchandise, using held scan gun or keypad, weighing product on counter top scales, looking up products that do not scan).
  • Perform cart‑to‑cart transfer of all products at checkout, including a visual inspection for product tampering.
  • Act as receipt checker; verifying cart content vs. purchases as customers leave the store.
  • Perform store opening and/or closing functions at the front end based on assigned shift.
• Sales Floor and Stocking:
  • Focus on increasing sales and managing shrinkage.
  • Assist customers in finding products and inform them of available services.
  • Receive inventory shipments, maintain and stock shelves orderly, and ensure proper rotation and product quality audits.
  • Label merchandise properly (blaster tagging for unscannable items, catch‑weight labels, and PLU tags for produce).
  • Replenish sales floor daily by down stocking freight from top stock, following FIFO.
  • Use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and proprietary software as needed.
  • Ensure products are easily accessible, visually appealing, and constantly available.
  • Assist with price changes as directed by the Pricing Lead and Store Management.
  • Participate in inventory and cycle count processes as needed.
• Customer Courtesy:
  • Maintain a safe environment for staff and customers by following safety policies.
  • Clean sales floor, front end, restrooms, parking lot, and store entry area.
  • Collect carts from parking lot and corrals, ensuring they are clean and operable.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Store Management.

Work in a retail store setting open to the public; exposure to outside weather conditions which may include inclement weather. Noise level is usually moderate. Typical work on a level surface; ladder or elevated surface may be required. Temperature ranges from
-10 to 85 degrees. Must physically interact with customers.

• Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier and/or stocking experience.
• Minimum one year retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred.
