Field Sales Representative

My client is seeking a Field Sales Representative to join their growing team based in Spartanburg, SC. This individual will focus primarily on new business development, building relationships with prospective customers, and expanding the company’s presence across commercial, retail, agricultural, and industrial fuel markets.

This is a highly field-focused outside sales role for someone who enjoys getting out of the office, meeting customers face-to-face, and developing business through strong relationships. The ideal candidate is driven, personable, self-motivated, and eager to build a long-term career in sales. Prior fuel or energy industry experience is not required—they are open to an early-career sales professional who has the personality and initiative to learn the business.

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities throughout an assigned territory
• Spend significant time in the field prospecting, visiting businesses, and developing new customer relationships
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with commercial, retail, agricultural, and industrial customers
• Manage and grow assigned accounts while identifying opportunities to increase sales volume and profitability
• Learn customer fuel requirements, delivery schedules, storage needs, and other operational considerations
• Develop solutions based on individual customer needs and provide reliable, responsive service
• Work closely with supply and logistics teams to coordinate deliveries, fuel availability, and customer needs
• Monitor regional market trends, competitor activity, and pricing to help identify sales opportunities
• Maintain accurate customer information, sales activity, and pipeline data within the CRM
• Develop weekly plans and effectively manage activity throughout the assigned territory
• Represent the company at customer meetings, site visits, trade shows, and industry events
• Consistently work toward individual and team sales goals

• Approximately 1-2 years of sales experience preferred, ideally in a B2B environment; motivated early-career candidates are encouraged to apply
• Strong interest in outside sales, new business development, and relationship building
• Confident, personable communicator who enjoys meeting new people and developing relationships face-to-face
• Comfortable spending significant time on the road, with travel up to 75% depending on assigned territory
• Willing and able to work regularly from the Spartanburg, SC office
• Self-motivated and proactive with a strong desire to generate new business
• Eager to learn fuel pricing, transportation logistics, contracts, and the downstream fuel distribution industry
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to independently manage a territory
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Comfortable working with customers across a variety of industries and business environments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general business software
