Campus Safety Attendant Responsibilities

• Patrols York Technical College ensuring the safety of personnel and buildings on campus. Assists with unlocking or locking buildings.
• Be alert to possible problems on campus. Patrol on foot, golfcarts, and/or vehicles as required. Be watchful of safety/security concerns.
• Provide vehicle assistance to faculty, staff, students, and visitors of York Technical College to include jump starts and other forms of assistance that may be required.
• Provide escorts to parking lots or vehicles for faculty, staff, and students when requested.
• Investigate complaints and incidents occurring on York Technical College campus.
• Monitor alarms and surveillance cameras located in the Campus Safety Office.
• Respond to emergencies and alarms. Complete proper documentation of situations and forward to supervisor.
• Maintain communication with Campus Safety/Law Enforcement team. Respond to other members requiring assistance. Assist local Law Enforcement while on York Technical College campus.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certified or willing to become certified.

• At least a high school diploma or GED.
• At least three years of experience with safety, security, EMS or law enforcement, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certified or able to become certified within first 90 days of employment.
• Regular walking and standing for extended periods of time.
• Able to lift or move 15 pounds.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related fields preferred.
• Familiarity with de‑escalation, surveillance cameras, fire and burglar alarms, computer operating systems (Microsoft Word, Excel).
