Work Outdoors. Travel Regionally. Build a Career in the Railroad Industry.

Road & Rail Services is hiring Track Workers / Equipment Operators to support railroad track maintenance projects across the region. This is a travel-based position with regular regional travel required—you will be working outdoors, using tools and equipment, and traveling to job sites as needed.

No railroad experience? That's okay. We're looking for people with backgrounds in construction, landscaping, farming, or general labor who are comfortable working with their hands and being outside all day. We will train you.

If you're the type of person who likes physical work, working with tools, and being part of a crew—this is a strong long-term opportunity.

What You'll Do
  • Work on railroad track maintenance crews performing hands‑on labor
  • Use hand tools and operate equipment such as backhoes, tampers, and loaders
  • Replace railroad ties, repair track, and assist with track alignment
  • Clear vegetation, install crossings, and support general maintenance
  • Follow all safety rules and FRA regulations
  • Travel to job sites and work with a team to complete projects safely and efficiently
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in construction, landscaping, farming, or similar hands‑on work
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Mechanically inclined and comfortable using tools
  • Willingness to travel regionally and stay overnight as needed (not a home‑daily position)
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Valid driver’s license
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Railroad or track maintenance (MOW) experience
  • Experience operating heavy equipment
Work Environment & Travel
  • Regional travel required (not a fully local position)
  • Projects are located across the surrounding region and may require overnight stays
  • Work is performed outdoors in active railroad environments
  • Physical work including lifting, bending, and working on uneven ground
Why Join Road & Rail Services
  • Full‑time, stable work in an essential industry
  • Hands‑on training in railroad operations
  • Opportunities to advance into equipment operator and leadership roles
  • Full benefits:
    Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k)
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Steel toe boot allowance and all PPE provided

If you enjoy working outdoors, using your hands, and want a long‑term career—not just a job—apply today.
