Position Summary
Painter – responsible for applying decorative coatings, preparing surfaces, and maintaining residence hall surfaces. Works under supervisor. Essential personnel during inclement/hazardous weather.
Assists supervisor with the selection, preparation, and application of paint and decorative finishes to a variety of surfaces, including plaster, wood, sheetrock, and metal.
Prepares surfaces through stripping, sanding, and repairing prior to application.
Key Responsibilities- Apply decorative coating to multiple surfaces following procedures.
- Follow work management procedures.
- Prepare and apply patching, plaster, caulking, and other compounds as needed.
- Serve as essential personnel during inclement/hazardous weather and other emergencies.
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Valid driver’s license.

Employment DetailsSalary: $19.84 per hour.
Location:
Columbia, SC. Hours per week: 40.
Work schedule:
8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday with flexible availability as needed.
