Provides speech screenings to children. Refers children and their parents to community agencies and professionals as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Performs speech screenings for children ages 2.5
-5.11 years - Assists in the coordination of Child Find and referral process
- Works with community agencies to provide services/programs to meet needs of children inside/outside of the school environment.
- Cooperates with school personnel in identifying and meeting social, emotional, and physical needs of children.
- Compiles data and prepares various reports and records required by the school, district, and/or other agencies.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director of School Readiness, Chief Instructional Services Officer, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology or Speech Education.
- Must hold or be eligible to hold a professional teaching certificate in the area of Speech Correction from the South Carolina Department of Education
- Prior tutorial experience preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of children.
- Ability to work with others.
- Willingness to follow directions.
- Ability to handle unforeseen situations in accordance with Board Policy.
- Ability to accept individual differences among children.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
