Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Team Lead - Front Storeroom (B-Shift)
Hours:
3:00pm-1:00am (Monday-Thursday)
Hourly rate: $26.00 per hour. Eligible for a variable incentive program. Salary is a general guideline based on skills, experience, qualifications, market and business considerations.
What you’ll doPrimary responsibility of the role is to provide manufacturing expertise, support, and direction to the Storeroom Team. The Storeroom Team Leader assists Storeroom Supervision in assigning daily tasks to ensure all material handling processes are completed accurately and timely, while supporting customers. The Team Leader also troubleshoots processes, identifies process improvement opportunities, and works with internal and external customers to meet required needs.
Additionally, the Leader provides manufacturing expertise and direction throughout the storeroom process to improve profitability, align performance with production goals, quality standards, and customer service objectives. Managing training initiatives, cross‑shift communication, and promoting teamwork are also key responsibilities.
- Manage storeroom daily functions to ensure material is organized, stored safely, and internal/external customer needs are met in a timely manner.
- Provide motivation and encouragement to the storeroom team, ensuring they are aware of all workplace goals surrounding production, safety, and quality.
- Work directly with the production team to ensure customer orders are executed in a timely and efficient manner, prioritizing urgent orders.
- Comply with and enforce all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment, safe equipment operation, and departmental safety objectives; maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area per 5S standards.
- Provide on‑the‑job training and develop needs per individual, team, and product group; serve as a resource for specific skills training as needed.
- Understand the metrics necessary for quality and production by collecting and evaluating production data such as cycle counts, receiving on‑time, transaction accuracy, dock reports, inspection reports, etc.
- Consistently check the quality of materials to ensure supplier requirements are met; promote quality objectives by clarifying standards and goals.
- Work on projects and special assignments as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or materials processing experience.
- Experience using a computer, including competence in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Forklift experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. permanently without company sponsorship.
- Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Sumter will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Team Leader experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with AS400, Vista, and DMM computer programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to multi‑task and balance demands while achieving goals.
- Collaborative style and effectiveness in a diverse environment.
- Ability to learn from past experiences and apply learning to current situations.
- Self‑starter capable of working with minimum supervision; solves unusual problems by interfacing with other departments.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of AS400, Word, Excel.

- Management of changing schedules with internal and external customers.
- Independent and team work across plant and corporate entities.

- Strong organizational skills.

Work EnvironmentThe employee is regularly exposed to noise and dust.
Physical DemandsRequired to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle and feel. Frequently required to walk, stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and grip. Frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds and push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds. Vision requirements include far and close vision, depth perception, and color discrimination. Regularly required to listen and talk.
