Full‑time Night shift: 7:00pm‑7:30am (3×12‑hour shifts per week). The position includes an 18% night shift differential and a flat $3/hour weekend differential. A $20,000 sign‑on bonus is offered for eligible candidates.

Unit Overview:
The RN will work on a 21‑bed orthopedic unit on the 6th floor, caring for patients undergoing total joint replacements, spine surgeries, general trauma, and telemetry‑monitored medical cases. The unit practices the Progress‑In‑Place initiative, allowing patients to remain on the same unit as their acuity changes.

Position Summary

This role assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards, using the framework for professional nursing practice and development. The RN is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by themselves or by staff under their direction.

Core Functions

Assesses patients’ physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural needs and discharge planning. Reviews history, diagnostics, lab data, and reports abnormalities to physicians.

Formulates a plan of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and input from patients, families, and the health team.

Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health care team.

Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching, revising plans as needed.

Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record, ensuring legible, timely, and policy‑compliant documentation.

Provides care based on best evidence, may participate in research, shared leadership activities, and education/mentoring of staff and patients.

Contributes to society through activities that improve patient outcomes, participates in national nursing quality indicators, and professional organizations.

May supervise staff and manage department workflow when required.

Interacts with staff across departments, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to coordinate care, including spiritual support via clergy.

Minimum Qualifications

Current, valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/interim/compact license).
BLS certification.
Relevant clinical experience in the specialty area (minimum one year in an acute care hospital; most recent 12months as an RN).
Ability to maintain clinical performance competencies; annual validations required.
Drivers’ license and valid auto insurance (home‑health positions).
Firearm‑clearance and fingerprint clearance cards as required for behavioral health or home‑care roles.
An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit signed upon hire for applicable roles.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.
Professional nursing certification.
Additional related education and/or experience.
