Location & Shift
Primary City/State:
Sun City West, Arizona. Department: PCU-4D-Hosp. Shift: Night (7:00pm–7:30am) – 3 x 12‑hour shifts per week. Sign‑on Bonus: $20,000 for full‑time night shift. Night differential: 18% and a flat $3/h weekend shift differential when applicable.
Position Summary
This PCU nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care in a 38‑bed monitored progressive care unit focused on neuro and cardiac patients. The unit is a Joint Commission‑Certified Primary Stroke Center and provides care for post‑vascular surgical patients and post‑TPA patients.
Core Functions
Assess patients’ physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; review history, diagnostics, and laboratory data; report abnormal results.Formulate a plan of care, including discharge plans, based on assessment data and the input of patients, families, and the health team; set realistic, measurable goals.Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health‑care team; provide care per physician orders and nursing plan; promote continuity of care.Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; revise plans as needed; monitor patient progress toward goals.Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record; keep documentation legible and timely.Provide evidence‑based care and may participate in research; contribute to unit leadership, education, and orientation of staff and patients.Participate in improvement of nursing quality indicators; engage in professional organizations.Supervise staff and workflow of the department when required.Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts; provide spiritual support when appropriate.Minimum Qualifications
- Current, valid RN license (state of practice, temporary/interim, or compact). BLS certification required.
- Experience in acute care within the past 12 months; at least one year of acute‑care experience for registry and travel positions.
- Ability to maintain clinical performance competencies; demonstrated annually.
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree.
- Professional certification in relevant specialty.
- Additional related education or experience.
