Schedule:

9:30am – 10pm (Varied Schedule including on‑call, weekends, holidays; rotating with other staff).
Shift differentials: 18% night shift differential, flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential, $5/hour while on call.

Position Summary

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice. The role is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered, utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

Core Functions

Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; reviews patient history, laboratory data, and informs physicians of abnormal results.

Formulates a plan of care, including discharge, based on assessment data and input from patient, family, and health team; sets realistic, measurable goals in collaboration with the patient/family.

Implements the plan through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health care team; ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching; revises the plan of care as needed; evaluates patient progress towards goals.

Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record; ensures documentation is legible, timely, objective/subjective data, and accurately reflects nursing interventions.

Provides care based on the best evidence; may participate in research activities; engages in unit or facility leadership and education of personnel, patients, and families.

Contributes to society through activities that lead to patient outcomes—e.g., participation in professional organizations and quality indicators.

In some roles, may supervise staff and manage department workflow.

Interacts with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to clarify information and provide spiritual support through clergy collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications

Current, valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/interim compact RN license).
BLS certification required; additional certifications or continuing education may be required.
Experience in the clinical area for which applying is desired; must maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations.
Banner Registry or Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting, including the past 12months as an RN.
Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as an RN in a physician practice or acute care setting.
Home Health staff must operate a personal vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license, and maintain active auto insurance.
Behavioral Health staff must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit at the time of hire and maintain these documents for the duration of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Professional certification preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
