The Heart Center at Banner Boswell has been nationally recognized for its care and expertise in cardiovascular preventive care, diagnostic services, medical and surgical treatment and rehabilitation. Our clinical neurosciences program specializes in comprehensive diagnostics, therapeutic interventions and neurosurgical treatment services for patients.
Banner Boswell is a Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center. We are one of three facilities in the Valley to offer deep brain stimulation, a surgical option for some patients with Parkinson’s disease or essential tremor.
The Observation service line is a fast-paced, 24-bed unit on 2N. As a Patient Care Assistant in our Telemetry unit focused on Observationstatus patients, you will be a part of a demanding environment with a wide variety of patient illnesses. This area features a dynamic similar to the ED, with the diagnostic work-ups and care needs of the Telemetry setting. This wide variety develops a strong clinical foundation and knowledge as you work closely with physicians, case management and experienced nurses.
You may potentially float to other IP units, as needed. Daily you will be responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provide a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department. Available shifts:
Full-time (3 days, 12 hour shifts)
Part-time (2 days, 12 hour shifts)
Hours: 6:00am - 6:30pm
Weekend rotations are required
Holiday rotation required
Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-Night Shift differential when applicable

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides assistance in activities of daily living and completes necessary tasks to promote patient health, including assisting patients with basic hygiene needs, maintaining an optimum level of mobility and providing assistance with nutritional intake as needed.
2. Collects patient specimens and data, including vital signs, input/output and other delegated measurements in accordance with unit/facility policy and standards of care. Documents objective data and routine aspects of patient care. Assists in the transportation of patient specimens.
