Electrician
Monday - Friday / 7:00am-3:30pm. Starting at $31.31 hourly. Must provide own basic hand tools.
LocationRoyal Oaks Retirement Community, 10015 W. Royal Oak Road, Sun City, AZ 85351. Cross streets: 99th and Grand Avenue.
Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Senior Facilities Manager, perform electrician tasks such as running electronic tests and inspections, cleaning contacts or circuit boards, ensuring systems are grounded, installing outlets, lighting fixtures, and switches, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and fixing electrical system breakdowns.
Major Duties- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, use test equipment to locate causes and correct problems.
- Inspect electrical systems and equipment for hazards, defects, and compliance with codes.
- Advise management on potential hazards.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Maintain records, prepare reports, order supplies.
- Analyze information and evaluate results to choose best solutions.
- Respond to routine and emergency repair calls.
- Perform basic plumbing and carpentry work as needed.
- Identify scheduling conflicts and generate required modifications.
- Promote workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Operate or drive a golf cart to transport supplies; may transport employees, residents, or guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of electrical theory, methods, materials, tools, equipment, and systems.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal codes and regulations.
- Mathematical and analytical skills for estimates and cost reports.
- Skill in use and care of equipment and tools.
- Organized, multi‑tasking, creative, adaptable.
- Clear communication and instruction skills.
- Reporting and correspondence writing skills.
- Ability to complete computer training.
- Maintain competency and knowledge of trade advances.
- Effective communication in English with all staff, residents, and guests.
- Three or more years of electrician experience in residential or commercial settings.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Electrical Engineering bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Journeyman license or experience preferred.
- OSHA 10‑hour certification within 90 days of hire.
- Valid fingerprint clearance card within 20 days of hire.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Memory care services training certificate within 30 days of hire and comply with annual requirements.
- Carry/lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
- Operate fire extinguisher as needed.
- Assist in evacuation procedures.
- Physical: climbing, kneeling, carrying, walking, sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, fine manipulation, gross manipulation, twisting, stooping, crawling.
- Cognitive: direct others, oral and written communication, time‑constrained work, concentration, math/calculations, accuracy, creativity, memory, problem‑solving, decision‑making, rapid work, observation, analytical ability.
- Environmental: indoor, outdoor, humid, toxic/caustic chemicals, high places, hot, cold, dry, wet, temperature changes, dust, odors, fumes, loud noise, near moving mechanical parts, vibration, electrical shock, working with others, alone.
