Pay: $95,000.00 Annual
Benefits:
New management full‑time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following the first day of full‑time employment.
Full‑Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (“PTO”) in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.
Full‑Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.
All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.
POSITION OVERVIEW:The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting function on behalf of Blue Star Resort & Golf at Iron Oaks at Sun Lakes. This position reports to the Director of Finance of Iron Oaks at Sun Lakes
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Communicate the core values and mission of Blue Star Resort & Golf (BSRG) to support the achievement of company goals.
- Manage Iron Oaks at Sun Lakes accounting operations and support BSRG goals.
- Create effective communication with team members to maintain a smooth, informed, and consistent atmosphere with regards to office functions.
- Provide recruitment, supervisory, and managerial duties in accordance with BSRG and Iron Oaks at Sun Lakes policies; hold team members accountable to assigned responsibilities.
- Provide leadership to field teams by collaborating and advising on important accounting, audit, and procedural matters related to job costing and other aspects of accounting.
- Daily interaction with residents and clients with high degree of service friendliness.
- Administer and monitor the annual budget to ensure expenses are within budgetary limits and the established financial goals.
- Answer vendor inquiries and research account payable discrepancies.
- Create and review budgets for accuracy with managers.
- Maintain fixed asset schedule, daily treasury functions, daily financial activity functions and reconciliation, and client billing and collection.
- Develop analytical reports for distribution to senior management.
- Maintain accurate financial data for Golf, Club, and HOA accounting as assigned.
- Prepare sales tax returns and process credit applications.
- Manage and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Verify and post details of business transactions to various accounts.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
- Must be highly customer oriented and responsive with high need for closure.
- Able to work under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments.

SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in general ledger accounting, with majority in accounting and financial leadership/supervisory positions required.
- Prior hospitality experience preferred.
- Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Quick Books and JD Edwards accounting software is highly desirable.
- Understanding of GAAP guidelines (general accepted accounting principles) as they apply to the position.
- Ability to understand financial analysis.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Must possess basic computational ability as well as budgetary analysis.
- Must have planning, problem-solving, decision-making, delegation, time management, supervisory and employee development skills.
