Position: Director, Lifestyle (IronOaks)

Overview

Iron Oaks at Sun Lakes comprises two interconnected neighborhoods – Ironwood and Oakwood – and is among the Valley's most desirable retirement destinations thanks to mature landscape, diverse amenities, and an in-town location. The community features two clubhouses, 45 holes of golf, fitness, tennis & pickleball, softball, pools, trails, and more.

Benefits

New management full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week are eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following the first day of full-time employment. Position Overview

The Lifestyle Director assists the club in achieving its most critical goal: bringing the community to life through events, programming, communications, and more. The Lifestyle Director works with peers throughout the Club to develop activities and events that appeal to a wide range of Members, and coordinates the necessary logistics to execute these events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Club Ambassador — serve as the face of the Club and rally Members to support the Club and its efforts.
  • Marketing Communicator — support the Club’s goal to increase participation.
  • MTL Maximizer — ensure the community website is up-to-date and accurate for all areas of the Club.
  • Utility Player — be willing to jump in and assist to help the Club succeed.
  • Financial Administrator — manage to the budget and ensure proper administration.
  • Innovator-in-Chief — develop creative, new activities to enrich Members’ lives; includes on-site and off-site events.

The Lifestyle Director should deploy a wide variety of skills, including personality, charisma, empathy, creativity, copywriting, web content management, and communications tools. The role requires internal motivation, attention to detail, and alignment with the Club’s vision. The position may require evenings and weekends and a flexible schedule. This position reports to the Club General Manager.

Key Qualifications / Skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Background in hospitality or travel industry; F&B experience beneficial.
  • Two years’ experience in event planning and budgeting preferred.
  • Experience working in a Homeowners Association (HOA) or with homebuilders is a plus.
  • Current First Aid, CPR/AED and other safety certifications as required by the Club.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office; proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials and regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strategic planning, change management, problem-solving, decision-making, delegation, time management, supervisory and staff development skills.
  • Initiative and sound judgment with the ability to work independently and in fast-paced environments.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Other Requirements

This position may require up to 20% travel. The Lifestyle Director regularly travels locally to attend activities and events, with occasional overnight travel based on planned activity.

Work Environment

Professional indoor office environment with possible exposure to outdoor conditions and wildlife when on the grounds or tine use of standard office equipment. Noise level is usually moderate.

Physical Demands

The role requires speaking and listening, sitting, standing and walking (occasionally extended), using hands, bending, and reaching. Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds occasionally.
