CH Bird Elementary School is seeking an exceptional Teacher
- Achievement Gap Reduction to join our team for the 202627 school year. At CH Bird, intervention is not viewed as a separate program or a place students go. It is a core component of our instructional system and one of the most important ways we fulfill our commitment to ensuring every student experiences success. We are looking for a highly skilled educator who believes that all students can grow, who thrives in collaborative environments, and who is passionate about using data to accelerate student learning.

CH Bird Elementary School is a Title I school serving approximately 271 students in grades K5. Approximately 45% of students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Our student population is diverse and reflects a wide range of strengths, experiences, cultures, and identities. We are committed to creating equitable opportunities and outcomes for every learner. Our school improvement efforts are guided by three core commitments: collaboration, data use, and reciprocal responsibility.

Position Overview

The Learning Strategist is a critical member of our instructional leadership system. While this position includes providing Tier II and Tier III reading and/or mathematics intervention services, the role extends far beyond direct instruction. Successful candidates will be systems-oriented educators who help build the capacity of teams, contribute to school wide problem-solving, and ensure interventions are delivered with urgency, consistency, and fidelity.

At CH Bird, we believe intervention is most effective when it is driven by student need, monitored frequently, adjusted based on evidence, closely connected to Tier I instruction, and supported through strong collaboration among educators.

Primary Responsibilities
  • High-Quality Intervention Instruction
    • Deliver evidence-based Tier II and Tier III literacy and/or mathematics interventions to individual students and small groups.
    • Plan and implement instruction aligned to student skill deficits and intervention plans.
    • Maintain a relentless focus on student growth and achievement.
    • Establish strong instructional routines that maximize student engagement and learning time.
    • Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment where students experience success.
  • Data Analysis and Progress Monitoring
    • Conduct assessments and progress monitoring with consistency and accuracy.
    • Analyze student performance data to determine instructional next steps.
    • Use progress monitoring data to identify students requiring instructional adjustments.
    • Communicate growth, concerns, and recommendations to classroom teachers and leadership teams.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to intervention services.
  • Collaboration and Teaming
    • Participate actively in Professional Learning Teams and problem-solving processes.
    • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to align intervention supports with core instruction.
    • Share expertise and instructional strategies that strengthen outcomes for students across settings.
    • Partner with special education staff, student services, instructional coaches, and administration to ensure coordinated support systems.
    • Contribute to a culture where students are viewed as "our students" rather than "my students."
  • Systems Development and Continuous Improvement
    • Support the implementation and refinement of CH Bird's intervention systems.
    • Assist teams in identifying barriers to student success and developing solutions.
    • Help monitor intervention fidelity and effectiveness.
    • Participate in school wide improvement efforts focused on literacy, mathematics, and equitable student outcomes.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and reflective practice.
Desired Traits and Dispositions

We are seeking a Learning Strategist who is: relentlessly student-centered, data-informed, collaborative, instructionally strong, systems-oriented, reflective and growth-minded, reliable and accountable, and equity-driven.
