Welder

This role focuses on TIG welding thin-gauge stainless steel for dairy, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage applications in a state-of-the-art facility. You will work primarily on stainless steel components, interpret blueprints, and support fabrication activities as needed while maintaining a clean and safe work area. The position offers exposure to a variety of products and processes, providing a well-rounded welding and fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding on thin-gauge stainless steel, typically around 16 gauge, to produce high-quality welds that meet dairy, pharmaceutical, and food-grade standards.
  • Work directly from blueprints, reading and interpreting welding symbols and process specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
  • Use fabrication equipment and tools as needed, including grinding, polishing, and operating brake presses when departments require additional support.
  • Grind and polish small welds using hand and power tools to achieve smooth, clean finishes suitable for food and beverage applications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments according to established procedures and specifications.
  • Assist in the fabrication and welding of food and beverage products such as cabinet washers, tanks, pressure systems, and tunnel washers as assigned.
  • Set up welding equipment and accessories independently, ensuring proper parameters and configurations for each job.
  • Clean and maintain the work area regularly, following safety and housekeeping standards to support a safe and organized shop.
  • Collaborate with team members across multiple departments, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to assist where needed.

Work Environment

This position is on 1st and 2nd shift, typically working four 10-hour days from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with flexibility to start at 4:00 a.m., 5:00 a.m., or 6:00 a.m. to complete a 10-hour shift. 2nd shift starts at 3PM or 3:30PM. Overtime is available on a voluntary basis. All overtime is double time!

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $90000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
