This position supports families by providing parent education services in both group and individual settings. The role focuses on helping families build skills, improve communication, and connect with needed community resources. As a County Social Services Aide 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Parent Education: Provide guidance to parents through both center-based and in-home instruction
- Activity Support: Assist with planning and carrying out individual and group activities for families
- Group Coordination: Organize parents into groups that work together to support each other
- Therapy Participation: Engage with therapists in group sessions and actively take part in discussions
- Record Maintenance: Maintain detailed case records that track each client's progress
- Client Resources: Refer parents to community services and help coordinate needed supports
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Flexible
Schedule:
May require evening, weekend, or on-call work depending on agency requirements. - Travel may be required throughout different locations.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a County Social Services Aide 1; or
- Graduation from high school, or its equivalency, and two years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information; or
- An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
