Hours:

37 hours per week (pattern confirmed at interview)

Contract:

Initial 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension

Driving licence & access to a vehicle required

We are seeking dedicated Family Workers to support Social Workers in delivering high-quality, hands‑on work with children, young people and families. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about safeguarding, supporting positive family relationships and helping children thrive.

In this varied, rewarding position, you will:

• Provide direct support to children, young people and their families to help keep children safely at home where possible.
• Support Social Workers with children on Child in Need, Child Protection and Care plans through direct work and practical interventions.
• Facilitate and supervise safe, meaningful family time sessions between children and their families.
• Manage schedules, venues and transport to ensure family time sessions run smoothly—including some travel outside the area.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with families and professionals.

We're looking for someone who has:

• Experience working with children, young people and families in formal or informal settings.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good organisational and report‑writing abilities.
• An understanding of safeguarding and child development.
• A driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• A Level 3 qualification in childcare/social care (or willingness to work toward this) is desirable.

Some flexible working, including occasional evenings/weekends, may be required.
