About the Role:
We are an established contractor looking to expand our site team by recruiting a reliable, highly skilled Joiner for projects based in and around the Sunderland area.
We have secured a strong, continuous pipeline of work across both high-spec residential developments and commercial refits. This is a genuine opportunity for regular, long-term subcontract work with steady hours and excellent job security. Key Responsibilities & Duties:
We are looking for an all-rounder who is confident tackling both structural work and high-end finishing. Your day-to-day duties will include:
First Fix Joinery:
Installing studwork, timber frames, ceiling joists, roof trusses, and subflooring/decking.
Second Fix Joinery:
Hanging internal and external doors, fitting skirting boards, architraves, window boards, and decorative mouldings.
Kitchen & Internal Fitting:
Installing kitchen units, worktops, cabinetry, ironmongery, and hardware to a high spec.
General Site Carpentry:
Snagging, partitions, and ensuring all structural and cosmetic woodwork meets strict quality standards and building regulations.
Candidate Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have the following:
Experience:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery, with at least 3-5 years of proven experience on site.
Credentials:
Must hold a valid CSCS Card (Blue Skilled Worker card preferred) and be fully registered under the CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) with a valid UTR number.
Tools & Transport:
Must possess a full inventory of your own professional 110v or cordless power tools, hand tools, and have your own reliable transport.
Work Ethic:
Punctual, productive, and able to work independently from drawings with a strong eye for detail.
