Manager of Emergency Services RN

The Manager of Emergency Services RN coordinates patient care activities and clinical operations in the Emergency Department, collaborating with physicians, ancillary staff, and other health care delivery team members to deliver high quality health care.

Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing on a shift-by-shift basis and schedule personnel at least two weeks prior to shift start.
• Manage day-to-day operations within the department, ensuring adequate supplies and functioning equipment.
• Participate in the Regional Advisor Council (RAC) Committees as assigned.
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate monthly trauma quality improvement activities in coordination with the Trauma/Education Coordinator.
• Review department and trauma policies annually; develop new policies as needed.
• Maintain current trauma certification and compliance with Core Measures in the Emergency Department.
• Maintain 100% compliance with Premium Credit best-practice guidelines.
• Provide four hours of clinical bedside nursing per week and accompany Level 1 trauma patients transported to RETGH in accordance with physician orders.
• Attend all unit meetings, share “call” with the Emergency Department Director and Trauma/Education Coordinator, and serve as staff or charge nurse when required.

Qualifications Required

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course within 60 months of employment start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
• Registered Nurse license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing, Bachelor’s Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.

Del Sol Medical Center is a full-service, acute-care hospital located in east El Paso, Texas, with a Level II trauma designation and over 300 patient beds. Services include emergency care, cardiac care, women’s services, Level III NICU, rehabilitation, a bariatric clinic, and a minimally invasive surgery center.
