Job Summary:
The IT Manageris responsible forthe design, implementation, security, and support of both enterprise IT and manufacturing technology infrastructure across the organization. This role oversees business network operations while partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Automation teams to ensure reliable, secure, and resilient manufacturing systems.
A primary responsibility ismaintainingthe separation and security of
Operational Technology (OT)and
Information Technology (IT)environments through proper network segmentation, industrial cybersecurity practices, and lifecycle management of industrial assets.
The successful candidate will lead initiatives involving SCADA systems, PLC communications, Industrial IoT (IIoT) devices, wireless manufacturing networks, and enterprise infrastructure while ensuring high system availability for our production environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the design and maintenance of secure network architecture that separates enterprise and industrial environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and maintain segmented IT/OT networks.
- Configure and maintain:
- Industrial firewalls
- Layer 3 switches
- VLANs
- ACLs
- Industrial DMZs
- Secure communications between:
- Business network
- Manufacturing network
- Cloud services
- Remote vendor access
- Monitor network performance and availability.
- Maintain redundant network paths for critical production systems.
- Participate in plant expansion and new equipment network design.
Oversee lifecycle management for connected manufacturing devices.
Responsibilities include:
- Inventory and manage Industrial IoT devices.
- Monitor firmware and software revisions.
- Coordinate secure patching schedules.
- Manage:
- Barcode scanners
- Wireless tablets
- Mobile computers
- Industrial printers
- Temperature sensors
- Environmental monitoring devices
- Smart manufacturing equipment
- Implement device authentication and certificate management.
- Maintain asset inventory and lifecycle documentation.
Manufacturing Technology (OT)
- Manage the IT infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations, including:
- SCADA systems
- Industrial HMIs
- Historian systems
- Industrial PCs
- Thin clients
- Engineering workstations
- Collaborate with Controls Engineers on communications between:
- PLCs
- Sensors
- Robotics
- Vision systems
- Packaging equipment
- Support manufacturing software connectivity including:
- MES
- ERP integrations
- Quality systems
- Production reporting
- I ndustrial Printing (Markem-Imaje/COLOS)
- Ensure high availability of production systems with minimal manufacturing downtime.
- Develop disaster recovery procedures for manufacturing systems.
Cybersecurity
Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies protecting both enterprise and operational environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Implement Zero Trust principles where practical.
- Maintain endpoint protection across servers and workstations.
