Darigold is seeking a Whey Plant Auxiliary Operator to join our production team at our Sunnyside, WA location. This position is primarily responsible for milk receiving and membrane processing operations, including milk intake, sampling, testing, and filtration systems. The operator will also be cross-trained to perform evaporator, dryer, HTST, SAPAC and other whey plant processes to support overall plant operations.
What You Will Do- Operate milk receiving systems including truck unloading and loading, routing, and intake coordination.
- Perform milk sampling and testing in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor silo levels and ensure proper product handling and storage.
- Operate membrane systems (RO, UF, and polishers).
- Maintain accurate production, testing, and CIP documentation.
- Perform start-up, shutdown, and CIP processes.
- Operate evaporator, dryer, and HTST systems as needed.
- Monitor production processes and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Provide relief coverage and support across plant operations.
- Maintain sanitation, safety, and GMP compliance standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Satisfactory attendance and work history.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and troubleshoot systems effectively.
- Ability to learn multiple job functions within a short timeframe.
- Knowledge of dairy processing or membrane systems preferred.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain required licenses and regulatory permits within required time frames.
- Ability to lift and carry 60–70 pounds regularly.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
