Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Facility Technician position works in the Port's Industrial Wastewater (IWW) Treatment Facility, along with other Facility Technicians, under the supervision of the Plant Operator. The Facility Technician helps maintain, diagnose, and repair the IWW treatment systems which are composed of mechanical, chemical and biological elements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Repair and troubleshoot pumps, electric motors, controls, generators, filters, gear boxes, machines, and flow meters
- Perform preventative maintenance on treatment equipment
- Operate equipment, backhoe, forklift, and vehicles
- Collect wastewater samples for testing
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this position, you must have the following experience and education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of college or technical school preferred
- Two (2) plus years’ experience in wastewater treatment, irrigation, general construction or plant maintenance
LICENSES & CERTIFICATES:
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License
