The Maintenance Control Technician supports plant operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving instrumentation, automation, and control systems used in food manufacturing. The role bridges maintenance, engineering, and operations during equipment installation, commissioning, and normal production operations.

• Support installation, configuration, and calibration of measurement probes and related instrumentation.
• Assist in automation of monitoring systems by integrating sensors into PLC-based systems and SCADA or equivalent plant control platforms.
• Diagnose equipment issues and troubleshoot instrumentation and basic control loops to ensure reliable system performance.
• Work closely with Maintenance Technicians and Engineers during startup and ramp‑up phases to diagnose electrical/control‑related issues and support preventive maintenance activities related to controls and instrumentation.
• Perform work in accordance with OSHA, OSHA, or other applicable electrical safety standards, LOTO and confined space procedures, and food safety requirements applicable to controls and automation.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)/ Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and site commissioning activities alongside equipment vendors and engineers; assist with input/output (I/O) signaling checks and loop verification during new equipment installs; document as‑built changes related to controls, sensors, and panels.
• Identify recurring control or instrumentation failures and propose corrective actions; assist maintenance and engineering teams with standardization of sensors, panels, and requirements.

Required

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Control Technician or similar role.
• An associate’s degree, certification, or equivalent.
• Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (food or beverage preferred). Hands‑on experience with industrial sensors and instrumentation, electrical troubleshooting (low‑voltage control circuits), ability to safely work around energized panels following all safety rules and standards.

Preferred

• Experience with PLC platforms (Allen‑Bradley / Siemens, preferred).
• Familiarity with SCADA / HMI systems.
• Understanding of control loops, basic automation principles, commissioning or startup project experience.

• Strong troubleshooting mindset (systems + root cause).
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with maintenance, operations, and comfortable supporting equipment vendors during installation and startup.
• Clear documentation and communication skills.
