Staff Accountant

An electrical equipment supplier located in Sunnyvale, Northern California, is seeking a Staff Accountant. We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of accounting experience. Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English is required.

• Accounting Coordination:
  Prepares, examines, or analyzes accounting records including AP/AR related documents, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Handles monthly, quarterly and year-end accounting closing work.
• Prepares cash flow reports, identifies and evaluates variances.
• Maintains and supports cash management account and other bank accounts.
• Liaises with parties involved in transactions and assists with negotiations as needed.
• Prepares and maintains all tax documentation and related records that are in compliance with applicable US tax law.
• Deals with quarterly reviews as well as year‑end financial audit.
• Supports management with annually/quarterly/monthly expense budget.
• Supports handling internal audit related to collection.
• Supports filing and payment of state sales tax, property tax, and corporate tax, etc. by working with external tax accountant.
• Maintains current knowledge on relevant systems and accounting standards, including GAAP and IRS regulations.
• Prepares forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel and directs their work activities.
• Prepares and maintains the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
• Supports the calculation for final value of inventory at the end of the accounting period.

• Supports co-workers and other departments when requested by management.

9:00am – 6:00pm. Full‑time (DOE: Non‑exempt or Exempt) Employee.

• Salary: $80K - $95K.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Work Experience:
  
  5+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance related work (Required).
• Computer
  
  Skills:
  
  Advanced level Excel/Word, strong proficiency in Excel with advanced formulas and data aggregation/pivots.
• Experience with SAP S/4
  
  HANA is highly preferred (plus).
• Language

  Bilingual in Japanese and English (Professional working proficiency).
