Interim Senior Accounting Manager - Fixed Assets & Inventory Accounting
Our client, a high-growth technology and manufacturing company, is seeking a Fixed Assets & Inventory Accounting Consultant to support its Finance and Operations teams during a period of rapid growth and operational scaling.
This position is hybrid with in-office requirements 3 days/week in Sunnyvale, CA. This role has a duration of 3 months, with potential to extend.
Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and prepare related accounting entries.
- Analyze inventory activity, manufacturing variances, rebates, yield losses, and related operational accounting impacts.
- Ensure accurate classification and accounting treatment of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory.
- Review cost of goods sold activity and prepare variance analyses and supporting explanations.
- Manage the full fixed asset lifecycle, including asset additions, transfers, disposals, depreciation, and capitalization activities.
- Maintain fixed asset records and support compliance with accounting policies and reporting requirements.
- Monitor construction-in-progress balances and support timely capitalization of projects.
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities, audit support, and financial reporting deliverables.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement teams to improve processes and ensure accounting accuracy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing, technology, or inventory-intensive environments.
- Strong experience with fixed asset accounting and inventory accounting.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar platforms.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyze large volumes of financial and operational data.
- CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
