A $15 billion autonomous vehicle company is adding a Purchasing Operations Specialist to keep its engineering and R&D procurement running without friction. You will own the full PO lifecycle in Coupa while working directly alongside engineering, finance, and operations teams building technology that is reshaping how vehicles move.
You will join the procurement and operations function supporting engineering and R&D teams across hardware, software licenses, cloud services, and technical components. This is a hands‑on execution role: you will be the person who keeps purchase orders moving, approvals from stalling, and invoice issues from becoming project blockers. You will work closely with engineering, finance, and operations stakeholders while managing supplier relationships on the execution side.
Responsibilities- Review requisitions and statements of work from engineering and R&D teams, confirming scope, pricing, cost center coding, and delivery terms are complete before raising a PO
- Create and manage purchase orders in Coupa (or equivalent ERP), owning the lifecycle from creation through goods receipt and closure
- Proactively track approval status across open POs and requisitions, following up with approvers and budget owners to prevent timeline delays
- Maintain accurate real‑time tracking of open POs, commitments, and spend against budget, and produce regular status updates for stakeholders
- Serve as the primary point of contact for invoice discrepancies including mismatches, missing PO references, and pricing errors, coordinating resolution with suppliers and internal finance
- Coordinate with suppliers to confirm deliveries, complete goods receipts, and ensure transactions are fully closed
- Identify and elevate blockers related to budget, scope, supplier terms, or internal approvals before they stall project timelines
- 3+ years of procurement operations experience with hands‑on PO lifecycle management
- Experience in Coupa, Oracle, SAP, Net Suite, or a comparable procurement or ERP platform
- Background in electronics manufacturing, automotive, or high‑tech industries preferred
- Strong cross‑functional communication skills; comfortable working directly with engineering and finance stakeholders
- Experience resolving invoice discrepancies and coordinating with AP and supplier contacts
- Experience purchasing software licenses, data sets, or cloud services
- Familiarity with data analytics tools for procurement reporting and spend visibility
- Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate procurement workflows
