Recreation Services Coordinator - Term-Limited

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Recreation Services Coordinator for a two-year, term-limited position supporting the City’s public art program. Reporting to the Public Art Analyst, this position will coordinate and implement community-based public art initiatives, including the Utility Box Art Program, Suns of Sunnyvale and other approved projects. Responsibilities may include coordinating artist calls and selection processes, supporting community outreach and public events, monitoring maintenance and restoration of existing artwork, assisting with contracts, purchasing and project documentation, and working with artists, contractors, community members and other City departments.

The ideal candidate will have strong project-management and communication skills, an interest in public art, an understanding of visual art process and materials, and experience coordinating programs or projects involving multiple partners and deadlines.

The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way:

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in recreation/leisure, arts administration, hospitality management, human services, public administration, business administration or a related field; AND
• Two years of experience in recreation programs or other community based services.
