About the Role :
This position will support established and emerging Missile Defense programs as a Guidance, Navigation & Controls (GNC) Engineer (Level II). As part of this highly-skilled team, you will be responsible for making technical decisions and working with colleagues and leadership to deliver results. Demonstrated experience with GNC and Flight Software modeling, architectures and deployment in missile applications is highly desired.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral, are essential. Successful applicants will generally possess at least 1+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.

Basic Qualifications:

Skill Requirements:

• Broad technical skills including rigid body dynamics, control theory and computer programming
• Experience with software, simulation and programming tools (ex. Matlab/Simulink, Fortran, C++, Python etc.)
• Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams by leveraging excellent verbal and written communication skills Security Clearance / Work Authorization:

• To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen.

• Although not required to start, the selected applicant must be eligible to obtain, and maintain, a government issued Secret clearance for long term employment on this program
Desired

Skills:

• Experience with GN&C control theory and physical modeling related to spacecraft and/or missile systems

• Ability to coordinate integration activities across a team that performs missile GN&C design and analysis tasks

• Demonstrated experience with missile simulation and tool development, maintenance and use for performance analysis. Strong understanding of modeling principles.
• Experience in weapon system and/or sensor modeling.

• Experience evaluating system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements

• Minimum 1 year previous professional experience and/or Master's Degree in a related field
Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
