Job Description
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Program Management Manager to join the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program and lead the Dynamic Ballast System (DBS) mechanism development and production.
LocationSelected candidates must be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facilities in Sunnyvale, CA, or Littleton, CO. The role requires onsite presence in the office as needed.
What does this role look like?Join us where you will lead a team of engineers developing missile avionics for use across Lockheed Martin Space. In this role, you are responsible for managing an interdisciplinary engineering team in design, assembly, test, and integration of avionics hardware.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of a new defense system.
- Direct the team through development and production of the DBS mechanism.
- Lead cost, schedule, and technical effort related to scope, cost estimation, planning, scheduling, staffing, and tracking.
- Prepare for and participate in Manufacturing Readiness Review (MRR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), qualification testing, and production.
- Oversee selection, hiring, and management of staff.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent education and experience).
- 8+ years of professional experience in program management of missile/avionics mechanisms.
- Background in integrated product team leadership.
- Experience in procurement and production management of missile/avionics mechanisms.
- Final DoD Secret clearance required.
- Strong communication skills and experience presenting to peers, leadership, and/or customers.
- Past experience as a subsystem technical lead.
- Experience executing and documenting technical trade studies.
- Past involvement in procurement and management of supplier‑developed hardware, including collaboration with program subcontract management teams.
- Ability to solve complex development or design issues and experience in failure resolution/remediation processes leading to mission success.
- Prior success in a production environment driving timely solutions for complicated supplier issues.
- Adaptability to new situations and self‑initiative in solving complex problems.
- Experience leading teams through challenging engineering and/or programmatic issues.
