Job Description
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full‑time Early‑Career Materials Engineer at its Sunnyvale Campus in California. The role involves working in an engineering materials laboratory to develop test plans and perform testing, data evaluation, and documentation related to the acceptability of parts, materials, and processes.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop test plans and conduct laboratory testing of materials and components. Analyze test data, evaluate results, and produce lab reports. Review laboratory test results and support ongoing quality assurance activities. Ensure test procedures comply with applicable standards and documentation requirements.
Basic Qualifications- Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree.
- Experience or coursework in a laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of electrical testing, materials testing, and metallurgy.
- Experience reviewing laboratory test results.
- Ability to evaluate data, complete documentation, and prepare lab reports.
- US citizenship.
- Familiarity with ASTM, AMS, or MIL specifications for metals and electrical testing.
- Knowledge of standards for testing electrical, electronic, and electromechanical parts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation and BenefitsAnnual base salary range varies by location (e.g., California: $57,500 – $101,430). Salary reflects scope, responsibilities, and experience.
