** Description*
* Responsible for innovating precision assembly and measurement processes, and driving continuous improvement in equipment yield, efficiency, and speed. Key stakeholder in design-for-manufacturing, process development, and assembly tolerance analysis. This work directly impacts the design, cost and quality of new, technically complex opto-electronics modules.
** Minimum Qualifications*
* + 1+ years of experience in precision assembly, inspection and automation equipment design and qualification
+ Ability to travel approximately 30-35%
+ BSME or equivalent
** Preferred Qualifications*
* + 3 + years in an engineering role with experience in precision assembly, inspection and automation equipment
+ Required to understand and build tolerance analysis for parts and assemblies
+ Knowledgeable in crafting machine qualification requirements, design of experiments and failure analysis
+ Understands machine qualification including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability and reproducibility
+ Able to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment
+ New product introduction and Manufacturing Operations experience desired
+ Proven track record of cost reduction, project management and engineering design required
+ Working knowledge of GD&T principles favorable
+ NX, Solid Works CAD or ProE experiences a plus
+ Knowledge of optics principles as they relate to CCD cameras, 2D and 1D lasers, and their use for positioning and critical alignment machines
+ Working knowledge of robotics (6-axis and/or SCARA), pneumatics, servo motors, motion controllers, PLC and and PC-based control systems
+ JMP, Minitab & Six Sigma experience preferred
