You'll lead mechanical hardware design from concept through production—integrating AI‑driven solutions, advanced robotics, and AI based vision systems into innovative automation workcells. As the key interface between Hardware and Operations teams (US & China), you will transform complex product requirements into intelligent, cost‑effective automation.
- Drive world‑class manufacturing automation solutions to scale operations globally.
- Innovate assembly automation solutions, explore latest technologies, and design equipment and fixtures in 3D CAD.
- Lead integration between Hardware, Product Design Engineering, local and offshore Operations teams, and OEM partners.
- Innovate, design, and develop cost‑effective assembly automation solutions (including 3D CAD).
- Scale automation solutions in partnership with Contract Manufacturers (CMs).
- Design and develop custom automation solutions for unique customer needs, creating machines that do not yet exist.
- Review automation equipment DFM with CMs and internal stakeholders.
- Understand automation trends and help define the automation roadmap for the next three years.
You will work with highly skilled individuals from China and the US, partnering to solve complex automation issues and improve overall product design to delight customers.
Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience with robotics work cells and control systems.
- Proven track record of taking automation concepts from design through build, integration.
- 3+ years of experience with prototyping and implementation.
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Experience integrating AI/ML and computer vision into manufacturing automation systems.
- Demonstrated experience incubating novel automation technologies from R&D through production deployment at scale.
- Strong background in tolerance analysis, GD&T, and designing automation for tight‑tolerance assemblies.
- 3+ years of experience with PLC/HMI programming.
