Electrical Engineer - Wearables

As a Hardware Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, develop, and integrate innovative electrical systems for a wide range of applications, from next-generation consumer hardware to large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams-including mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing experts-to deliver impactful solutions. Your work may span the full product or system lifecycle, from early prototyping and feasibility studies to large-scale deployment and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant technical field, and/or equivalent practical experience

* 6+ years of experience in electrical design, with a demonstrated track record of delivering/shipping high-volume products and/or working in research, prototyping, or early-stage development environments

* Demonstrated expertise in designing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems or subsystems

* Proficiency in interpreting and creating electrical schematics, designing physical layouts (e.g., PCBs or panel/plant layouts), and/or performing hardware/system bring‑up and debug at the lab or field level

* Experience collaborating across engineering disciplines and with external partners or vendors

Preferred Qualifications

* Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

* Familiarity with Qualcomm SoC architectures (PMIC companion chips, SPMI interface)

* Experience with circuit design in high-speed circuits, Verilog/FPGAs, microcontrollers, microprocessors, firmware, and programmable logic-based development

* M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

* Consumer Electronics experience and/or working in a mass production environment

* Experience with high-speed signaling over MIPI C-PHY/D-PHY, PCIe, USB SS and UFS

* Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

* Experience in developing manufacturing tests for high-volume consumer products

* Experience with ultra-low-power wearable design (smartwatches, earbuds, AR/VR headsets)

* Experience designing for HDI flexible and rigid substrates for high-volume cost-optimized applications

* Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

* Experience with SIP technologies

* Experience with RF system design and integration

* Supply chain experience: vendor evaluation, NPI

Responsibilities

* Own electrical development of complex subsystems or moderately complex systems, under guidance from technical leads or managers

* Lead schematic design, board layout, and cross-functional design reviews

* Propose innovative solutions to enhance system or product performance, reliability, and features

* Manage hardware bring-up, debugging, and support for manufacturing, assembly, or deployment

* Evaluate vendor reference designs and adapt them to Meta's requirements

* Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers; contribute to team knowledge sharing

* Work autonomously and take initiative to manage individual and team priorities

* Collaborate in a distributed team environment and across engineering disciplines

* Contribute to operational excellence, compliance, or specialized requirements as relevant to the team's mission
