Job Description
Lockheed Martin is looking for an energetic and high performing Project Engineer - Early Career to join the OPIR NGG team in Sunnyvale, California. This role works with the program office of the Next Gen Overhead Persistent Infra Red (OPIR) Geostationary (GEO) Satellite (NGG) program, reporting to the Program Integration and Projects Manager as a member of the Program Management Office responsible for supporting a range of activities.
Responsibilities- Optimize business operations and flow of information across the program between all IPTs and PMO functions
- Support contractual systems engineering to integrate technical and contractual information to satisfy program unique requirements
- Develop program specific contractual systems engineering knowledge book and training materials
- Provide technical assistance to the Program Management Office Leadership team
- Provide oversight of the various program Integrated Digital Environments SharePoint sites
- Assess program effectiveness and interface with government customers for management feedback, expectation management, and organizational process improvement
- Travel domestically (less than 10%) as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities
- Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project or similar)
- Basic understanding of project management concepts (scope, schedule, budget, risks) is a plus but not required
- Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance - U.S. Citizenship required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Technical Writing Experience desired
- Ability to build solid relationships with team members, customers, and leadership
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
- Proficient in complex problem solving
- Experience with Systems Engineering
- Active or Current Interim or Final Secret security clearance
Secret – This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
Additional Information- Onsite Full-time:
The work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. - Work Schedules:
Conventional 40 hours over a five‑day work week; consolidated schedules available. - Schedule:
9x80 every other Friday off - Location:
Sunnyvale, California - Shift: First
Annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $57,500 – $101,430. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location.
