Materials Engineer, Contamination Control - Early Career

Responsibilities

• Review plans for new products and factors such as strength, weight, and cost; submit material selection recommendations ensuring attainment of design objectives.
• Plan and implement laboratory operations to develop material and fabrication procedures for new materials that meet product cost and performance standards.
• Confer with producers of materials during investigation and evaluation of materials suitable for specific product applications.

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.).
• Experience implementing contamination control for space applications or a related field.
• Experience with precision cleaning of hardware or producing verification products for government customers.
• Knowledge of materials and processes for product development, improvement, design, application, and production.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
• Position requires onsite work at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
• Position requires special access to support the program.
