Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Aeroacoustics Engineer Level 2/3 with thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow knowledge for the development and ongoing support of turbines, bearings, heat exchangers, and other system components used in surface ship and submarine propulsion and power generation systems for the U.S. Navy based out of Sunnyvale, CA.
What You’ll Get to DoOur Sunnyvale site specializes in the development, manufacture, assembly, and testing of propulsion and power generation systems for naval surface ships and submarines. The candidate selected will apply their skills to support current and future Navy Power & Propulsion Turbo machinery development.
Responsibilities- Develop and integrate acoustic reduction technologies.
- Develop and implement predictive analysis codes; build and test physical models; design, develop, and build test and verification equipment; and develop, test, and integrate acoustic solutions.
- Conduct planning and road‑mapping for the development of novel acoustics technologies and innovative designs.
- Work closely with other disciplines to optimize the integration of acoustic technologies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related STEM discipline with 2 years related experience; or Master’s degree with no related experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of sound generation and acoustics transmission through space/materials.
- Experience in acoustic test/measurement, data processing, and analysis.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related STEM discipline with 5 years related experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years related experience; or Ph.D. in related discipline with no related experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of sound generation and acoustics transmission through space/materials.
- Experience in acoustic test/measurement, data processing, and analysis.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Master's degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a closely related engineering discipline.
Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 – $.
Secondary Level Salary Range: $ – $.
