MaxQ Medical is developing a next-generation ultrasound system that combines advanced electronics, signal processing, and system-level design to deliver a transformative imaging and therapy solution for prostate care.

Our team operates at the intersection of hardware and software, building systems that enable precise treatments with better patient outcomes.

The Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support the development of disposable ultrasound probes and associated systems, with a strong focus on verification testing, fixture design, and hands‑on prototyping.

This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who is eager to learn, highly adaptable, and excited to work in a startup environment where responsibilities evolve quickly. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including electrical and software engineering, to support product validation and system integration.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and execute verification test protocols in alignment with product and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with software and electrical engineering teams to align on system-level testing and requirements
  • Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation (SOLIDWORKS)
  • Support prototyping and iterative design cycles, including hands‑on build and testing
  • Apply design for manufacturability (DFM) principles in collaboration with internal teams and external partners
  • Analyze test results, identify issues, and propose design improvements
  • Contribute to system integration efforts across mechanical, electrical, and software components
What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS (required)
  • Hands‑on experience (academic, internship, or personal projects) with:
  • 3D printing
  • Injection molding
  • CNC machining (manual machining preferred)
  • Strong foundational understanding of mechanical engineering principles
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred:

  • Exposure to electromechanical systems or test equipment
  • Internship or co‑op experience (medical device industry is a plus, not required)
  • Exposure to verification testing, test fixtures, or lab‑based engineering work
  • Familiarity with FDA, ISO, or other regulated environments
  • Experience working on electromechanical systems or integrated products
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $120,000–$125,000.
  • Eligible for participation in an annual bonus plan and stock‑based compensation, subject to company performance and board of directors approval
