Role Responsibilities
- Report directly to the GN&C Manager within the GN&C Talent Center organization.
- Serve as a Line of Sight (LOS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) focused on optical LOS jitter analysis for precision‑pointing spacecraft.
- Support multiple satellite bus families, including the LM400 and LM2100 series.
- Contribute to GN&C subsystem architecture, systems engineering, disturbance modelling, and space vehicle jitter testing.
- Generate requirements, perform early program design and analysis, and conduct structural, damping, and dynamics modelling.
- Analyze time‑ and frequency‑domain LOS jitter, develop accuracy budgets, and model uncertainty factors.
- Integrate findings with flight software development and participate in dynamometer and on‑orbit testing.
- Collaborate effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and cross‑functional team environment.
- Advanced domain experience in spacecraft controller design and optimization.
- Proficiency in developing, verifying, and simulating performance of models using MATLAB/Simulink and C++.
- Expertise in LOS modeling and analysis, particularly optical LOS jitter for precision‑pointing spacecraft.
- U.S. citizenship and an Interim Top Secret clearance to be considered qualified.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government‑issued Top Secret clearance for long‑term employment.
- Experience with CORESIM tools.
- Flight software development experience and autocode to C++ or Python.
- Proficiency with attitude determination and Kalman filtering.
- Multi‑body dynamics modeling experience.
- Familiarity with a GN&C hardware suite for space applications.
- Domain experience in dynamics modeling and finite element modeling.
- Experience with LOS accuracy budgets and disturbance modelling.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the spacecraft program life cycle, from requirements generation to testing.
- Strong communication skills for articulating complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors, and customers.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Interim Top Secret clearance is required for qualification; final clearance must be obtained and maintained.
