Job Description

The Advanced Microscopy team has a great opportunity for a skilled Scientist with a background in operating and analyzing materials using TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy). This is a hands‑on, production‑focused role centered on supporting advanced materials and semiconductor analysis for clients across multiple industries.

The successful candidate will be a strong technical contributor who thrives in a fast‑paced lab environment, enjoys focused tool time, and values producing high‑quality, site‑specific results within defined client timelines.

The TEM Scientist will be responsible for:

* Partnering with team members to provide high quality analysis service to clients.

* Operating TEM tools to obtain TEM/STEM images, SAED, EDS and EELS data from samples.

* Developing TEM analysis protocols/techniques to meet clients' requests.

* Creating summary reports to capture the project objectives, analysis data and interpretation of the results.

A typical day would involve
- * Operating the TEM tools (FEI or JEOL electron microscopes) and collecting TEM/STEM images based on customers' requests.

* Performing elemental analysis such as EDS/EELS (collecting/process the data and creating the reports).

* Engaging in discussions with customers to solve their questions and concerns.

Work Schedule:

* 5pm-2am, Tuesdays to Saturdays OR Sundays to Thursdays

* Shift differential will apply

Compliance Requirement (ITAR)

This position supports work related to defense applications and is subject to ITAR regulations.

Applicants must be U.S. Persons, defined as:

* U.S. Citizen

* U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder)

* Political Asylee or Refugee

Qualifications

* PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or related field.

* Must have 3yrs+ hands-on experience in TEM analysis characterizing a variety of materials.

* Excellent understanding of the operations and principles of TEM tools.

* Expert background in electron microscopy, including TEM/STEM, SAED, 4D-STEM, EDS and EELS.

* Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).

What would set you apart:

* Familiarity with FEI and JEOL electron microscope tools.

* Experience with semiconductor chip products and wafer samples is a plus.
