We are seeking a motivated Component Engineer to join our team of forward-thinking experts dedicated to advancing the performance and reliability of Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical, and Electro-optical (EEEE) components. In this role, you'll support mission-critical hardware from concept through flight by applying sound engineering judgment, fostering vendor collaboration, and driving high-quality solutions. Your work will directly impact the success of our missions and the future of space exploration.
What You'll Do As a Component Engineer, you will:
- Lead or support the selection, qualification, and testing of EEEE components for high-reliability aerospace applications
- Drive supplier evaluation, performance reviews, and analysis of component test reports
- Develop and review Source Control Drawings (SCDs) and support engineering teams in component-level design decisions
- Review and approve engineering drawings, technical requirements, and specifications
- Generate and assess Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPARs) and present them at Parts, Materials, and Process Control Board (PMPCB) meetings
- Participate in or lead component failure analysis, issue resolution, and corrective action investigations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and manufacturing throughout the component lifecycle
Successful applicants will typically possess 3+ years of professional experience with a minimum education level of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or other STEM/Engineering related fields.
Desired skills:
- Experience with review Nonconformances and failures on EEEE piece parts
- Experience participating in major program reviews such as PDR and CDR
- Knowledge of military specifications and standards for components such as ceramic capacitors and solid tantalum capacitors
- Background in failure analysis methodologies and root cause investigations
- Experience in supplier collaboration and component sourcing strategies
- Familiarity with industry tools for parts analysis and reliability modeling
- Strong technical writing, documentation, and verbal communication skills
- Active or Current Secret clearance
