Mechanical Engineering – Associate Manager

As a Mechanical Engineering – Associate Manager, you will manage the definition, interpretation, and implementation of design requirements, task delegation, coordination and execution of hardware designs, development and integration of hardware custom and procured mechanical structural assemblies in accordance with engineering process specifications.

• Directly manage and lead a small team of engineers
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders and functional senior leadership teams to manage staffing requirements, plan job assignments/rotations to sustain engineering capabilities and critical skills, and drive performance management, career development, and personnel related activities.
• Ensure standard technical processes, tools, and training are available and properly implemented.
• Manage all aspects of mechanical designs; experience with machined parts, structures, gears, and motors is preferred.
• Represent the organization in design reviews and interactions, practicing Full Spectrum Leadership.
• Some travel will be required.

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education with commensurate years of professional experience.
• Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment
• Experience with the production, test, and integration of mechanical systems.
• Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently.
• Ability to navigate CAD models, drawings, and release tools.
• 1-3 years of demonstrated leadership experience – minimally as acting manager, technical lead, or team lead.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance; US citizenship is required.

• Experience with aerospace vehicle flight hardware design, analysis, manufacture, test, and integration.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Experience managing/leading an engineering team.
• Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 including GD&T.
• Considered a technical leader in aerospace mechanical systems.
• Previous experience planning and allocating tasks, establishing schedules, and managing cost accounts.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and documentation, including production planning and quality management systems.
• Active clearance.

Onsite Full‑time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Schedule:

9×80 every other Friday off.

Secret clearance required. US citizenship required.

Base salary range: $104,500 - $184,115 (California, Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, or Washington DC).
