Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Hardware Validation (Consumer Electronics)
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (On-site)
Duration: 6 months Contract to start with
We are looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer to support hardware development for next-generation smart wearable systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a lab environment, enjoys deep technical problem-solving, and has strong system-level understanding across power, battery, and charging architectures.
You will play a critical role in hardware validation, debugging, and failure analysis, ensuring products meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements. The work is highly cross‑functional and requires both technical depth and clear communication.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, with a strong focus on hardware validation and debugging
- Hands‑on expertise with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power meters, electronic loads, etc.)
- Strong foundation in system‑level electrical analysis:
Power integrity, Transient response, Noise and ripple, Efficiency and stability - Experience with high‑density PCB design (rigid/flex) and system integration
- Proven ability to drive root‑cause analysis and issue resolution
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Background in consumer electronics, wearables, or highly integrated hardware systems
- Familiarity with test automation (Python, LabVIEW, or similar)
- Working knowledge of regulatory and safety standards
- Basic understanding of embedded systems (ability to review logs, interface with firmware teams)
- Experience with battery‑powered wearable systems validation
- Expertise in building automated test setups (power profiling, regression testing, long‑duration reliability testing)
- Exposure to NPI and manufacturing test strategies
- Experience with SoC bring‑up and subsystem integration (sensors, wireless, audio, display)
- Own end‑to‑end hardware validation efforts, including test plans, coverage, and pass/fail criteria
- Perform system‑level electrical measurements and analysis across power rails, regulators, batteries, and charging systems
- Execute hands‑on lab debugging and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, electronic loads, and logic analyzers
- Conduct failure analysis on electrical issues such as component failures, battery degradation, and system‑level faults
- Review schematics and PCB layouts; identify risks and recommend improvements
- Validate and approve prototypes, engineering builds, and functional models
- Develop test procedures, functional specs, and design trade‑off documentation
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing validation activities
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure design robustness and production readiness
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (e.g., EMC) and support certification efforts
- Provide technical guidance to technicians and junior engineers when needed
