Supplier Development Engineer

This is a technical role within global supply chain organization and specifically within supplier development group. The individual in this role will be interfacing with chemical/biological raw material/external quality controls suppliers and internal teams such as R&D, Product Transfer and Quality. The ideal candidate for this role would be someone with technical capabilities required to implement design changes at the supplier, ability to effectively collaborate with multiple functions and business acumen to understand the financial impact of reagent sustaining projects.

• Requires a minimum of 2-3 years of related experience with a Bachelor of Science degree preferably Molecular biology, Biochemistry or Biomedical engineering.
• Demonstrated technical and analytical ability with high degree of professional acumen.
• Strong / Concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Experienced and comfortable with executive level presentations (.ppt / “elevator pitches”).
• Familiar with Design Control, ISO and GMPMD requirements.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with internal functional organizations and suppliers on a regular basis.
• Demonstrated experience with high volume reagent/controls manufacturing processes – automated processes, manual assembly, and functional tests. Experience with pFMEAs and Control plans, and technical quality assessment.
• Demonstrated experience with production line setup/validation, equipment selection/qualification, manufacturing approaches for high/low volume/mix, and working with contract manufacturers.
• Understanding of processing limitations and design characteristics.
• Ability to work at Supplier sites and office environment.
• Some travel domestically and internationally is required (15%)
