Senior Principal Engineer / Architect – High-Speed Interconnect IP
We are actively hiring and expanding our advanced silicon design organization. Despite frequent claims that "there are no jobs," we continue to see a significant shortage of truly experienced engineers in high-speed interconnect technologies. We are seeking a Senior Principal Engineer or Architect with deep expertise in next-generation interconnect and networking protocols to help drive the design and evolution of industry-leading IP.
If you have extensive hands-on experience with PCI Express, CXL, and/or high-bandwidth Ethernet technologies, we would like to hear from you — even if your background is more integration, architecture, or system-level than pure IP development.
- Lead or significantly contribute to the architecture, design, and integration of high-speed interconnect IP
- Work across the full silicon lifecycle: specification, design, verification, bring-up, and silicon debug
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architecture, verification, physical design, and software
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior and junior engineers
- Drive design decisions for performance, scalability, power efficiency, and reliability
- Interface with customers, partners, and standards bodies as needed
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 12+ years of industry experience in semiconductor or ASIC/SoC design
- 12+ years of hands-on experience working with one or more of the following:
- PCI Express (PCIe)
- Compute Express Link (CXL)
- Ethernet technologies ranging from 100 Gbps up to 1.5 Tbps
- Ultra Ethernet
- Strong understanding of high-speed serial links, PHY/MAC interactions, and protocol stacks
- Proven ability to work deeply with complex IP, whether through design, integration, optimization, or debug
- Direct experience designing interconnect IP from scratch
- Exposure to multi-die, chipset, or advanced packaging architectures
- Experience with large-scale data center, HPC, or AI accelerator designs
Familiarity with relevant standards bodies or protocol evolution
