Build the Future of Global ConnectivityPolar Field Services (PFS) is seeking a hands-on Deployment Engineer to support the Taara Connect program, an innovative wireless communications network delivering high-speed connectivity through Free Space Optical Communications (FSOC) technology.
This role is ideal for an experienced telecommunications, networking, or field engineering professional who enjoys a combination of technical problem solving, deployment work, international travel, and working with cutting-edge technology.
What You'll Do- Conduct site surveys and assess deployment readiness.
- Install, integrate, align, and commission wireless communication systems.
- Perform optical and RF alignment, testing, troubleshooting, and network turn-up activities.
- Coordinate and manage deployment logistics for domestic and international installations.
- Train and oversee local contractors during deployment projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and customer teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Develop and improve deployment procedures, documentation, and best practices.
- Support network operations and incident response activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of telecommunications, networking, or field engineering experience
- Experience installing and troubleshooting wireless, RF, or communications systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical skills
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid U.S. driver's license and passport
- Ability to travel internationally up to 20% of the year
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Network+, CCNA, or similar certifications
- Linux, Unix, or Windows administration experience
- Experience with telecommunications deployments, manufacturing support, or process development
