Job Description & How to Apply Below
As a Hardware Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for a wide range of applications, from next-generation consumer hardware to large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing experts—to deliver impactful solutions. Your work may span the full product or system lifecycle, from early prototyping and feasibility studies to large-scale deployment.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent industry experience 8+ years of experience in electrical design, including system-level architecture and integration
- Demonstrated technical leadership in at least one electrical engineering domain (e.g., power, display, sensors, infrastructure, high-speed interfaces, analog/mixed-signal)
- Documented experience delivering products or systems from concept through prototyping, validation, and mass production or large-scale deployment
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and mentoring engineers
- Proficiency with industry-standard design, simulation, and analysis tools (e.g., Cadence, Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, or similar)
- Experience communicating technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., design reviews, technical specifications, project updates)
- Experience with high-speed signaling over MIPI C-PHY/D-PHY, PCIe, USB SS, and UFS
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Experience with circuit design in high-speed circuits, Verilog/FPGAs, microcontrollers, microprocessors, firmware, and/or programmable logic based development
- 12+ years of industry experience in electrical design
- Background in consumer electronics product development, ideally wearables or compact form-factor devices, with experience in mass production environments
- Experience developing manufacturing tests for high-volume consumer products
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Experience with flex circuit design, complex MLB designs (SIP), HDI substrates, or board-level design beyond system EE
- Experience in one or more adjacent EE domains:
Display, Camera/Vision systems, Power/PMIC, Analog/Mixed-Signal, RF system design - MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
