Our client, a leading organization in the wireless communications industry, is seeking a Cellular Test Engineer to join their team. You will be part of the Quality and Hardware Product Engineering Group supporting cellular testing and firmware development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Wireless Systems Embedded Firmware Engineer III
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Pay Range:$52.20/hour - $65.25/hour
What's the Job?- Execute conformance, functional, and regression test campaigns on 5G (SA/NSA) and LTE devices, covering RRC/NAS signaling, mobility, carrier aggregation, and data-throughput scenarios.
- Validate radio protocol behavior against 3
GPP specifications and log findings with clear reproduction steps. - Perform RF performance measurements such as TX power, sensitivity, EVM, spurious emissions, and throughput versus signal level, comparing results against product requirements.
- Build, maintain, and extend automated test scripts and suites on Rohde & Schwarz CMX
500/CMW callbox platforms, ensuring reliable automation processes. - Set up and operate lab benches with spectrum/signal analyzers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and RF cabling for hardware debugging and signal integrity analysis.
- Hands-on experience with cellular testing across 5G LTE technologies, including radio protocol validation and RF performance testing.
- Proficiency with test automation on CMX (Rohde & Schwarz CMX
500/CMW callbox platforms), including scripting and regression suite management. - Strong lab bench skills, including use of oscilloscopes and related instrumentation for hardware debugging.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python for test automation and tooling development.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
