Position Summary
The Last Mile Delivery team builds and scales products that make every aspect of delivery faster, simpler, and more transparent—for both customers and the independent drivers who power our network. Our mission is to deliver an accurate, compliant, and effortless earnings ecosystem for thousands of gig drivers who rely on our platform every day.
As a Staff Product Manager on the Trust & Safety, Driver Earnings team, you will focus on Accounting, Tax & Reconciliation. You will own the financial integrity of the driver earnings lifecycle—spanning tax calculation, 1099 reporting, daily accounting accuracy, invoicing, reconciliation, and regulatory compliance. You’ll ensure that the data, systems, and UI surfaces that support driver earnings and accounting are precise, compliant, and transparent.
This role is deeply cross functional across Tax, Accounting, Finance Systems, Compliance, Disbursements, and Legal. You’ll steward products that move millions of dollars daily to gig drivers, uphold reporting obligations, prevent financial discrepancies, and strengthen trust through flawless execution.
Responsibilities- Lead product strategy for gig economy tax operations, including 1099 creation, filing, corrections, and distribution.
- Ensure earnings data is compliant with federal, state, and local tax rules; anticipate regulatory changes and translate them into scalable product solutions.
- Partner with Tax and Compliance to implement new reporting requirements, and audit ready documentation.
- Support systems that reconcile millions of transactions with a high degree of financial precision.
- Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure accurate GL mapping and settlement.
- Ensure disbursements to drivers flow through our partner banking solutions with zero defects.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies proactively, designing automated guardrails that prevent recurrence.
- Own product strategy, roadmap, PRDs, and KPI frameworks for accounting, tax, and reconciliation workflows.
- Ship resilient, scalable systems that support rapid growth while reducing operational overhead.
- You are energized by tax, accounting, reconciliation, and compliance challenges within large scale marketplaces.
- You can translate complex financial rules into simple, trustworthy user experiences.
- You’re exceptionally detail oriented and know how to safeguard financial accuracy at scale.
- You build strong partnerships across Finance, Tax, Compliance, and Engineering.
- You make decisions with data, structure ambiguous domains, and communicate clearly.
- Experience with gig economy platforms, disbursements, or contractor tax reporting.
- Background in financial systems, accounting, or enterprise reconciliation workflows.
- Familiarity with 1099, contractor earnings, and regulatory tax requirements.
- Skilled in discovery, requirements gathering, and partnering with legal and compliance teams.
