Role/ResponsibilitiesThe Workday Solution Architect – Payroll & Absence is responsible for designing, architecting, and delivering scalable Workday solutions focused on Payroll and Absence Management modules. The role involves collaborating with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective Workday configurations and integrations while ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the architecture and design of Workday Payroll and Absence solutions aligned with business requirements and Workday best practices.
- Work closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams to gather and analyze functional and technical requirements.
- Provide end-to-end solution architecture for Payroll and Absence modules including configuration, security, integrations, and reporting.
- Drive Workday implementations, enhancements, and optimization initiatives.
- Design and review complex payroll configurations, absence plans, accruals, eligibility rules, and time-off policies.
- Ensure compliance with local payroll legislation, taxation, and labor laws where applicable.
- Architect and guide Workday integrations with third-party systems such as payroll providers, benefits platforms, time tracking systems, and finance applications.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to functional consultants and technical teams.
- Conduct solution reviews, design documentation, and architecture governance.
- Support Workday releases, upgrades, and regression testing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve process automation, reporting, and analytics.
- Troubleshoot complex payroll and absence issues and recommend sustainable solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, HR, Finance, or related field.
- 8+ years of HRIS / HCM experience, with at least 4–5 years in Workday Payroll and Absence.
- Strong experience in Workday Payroll and Absence configuration.
- Experience with Workday implementations, deployments, or large transformation programs.
- Strong knowledge of Workday architecture, business process framework, security, and integrations.
- Experience working with Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and APIs (preferred).
- Understanding of payroll compliance and statutory regulations.
